Tianhong Li, M.D., Ph.D.
Tianhong “Tina” Li, MD, PhD, serves as a Professor of Clinical Medicine and thoracic medical oncologist at both the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center (UCDCCC) and the VA Northern California Health Care System (VANCHCS). Dr. Li's expertise lies in personalized cancer care, drawing upon her extensive background in laboratory and clinical research. Currently, she holds the position of Phase I Disease Team Leader at UCDCCC, where she leads efforts to translate innovative treatment strategies and technological advancements into direct patient care through early phase clinical trials. Supported by grants from the NIH and the Office of Research & Development, her laboratory research focuses on generating novel cancer therapies and improving tissue and blood-based molecular and immune biomarkers for precision lung cancer therapy. Furthermore, Dr. Li has served as a Principal Investigator in numerous investigator-initiated, multicenter clinical trials, as well as industry-supported phase II-III clinical trials investigating novel immunotherapies for lung cancer. She received the recognition of "Best Doctors in Sacramento" from Sacramento Magazine in 2020 and 2022.
