Augusto Dulanto Chiang, Assistant Professor, Transplant Infectious Diseases - Vanderbilt University Medical Center

Dr. Dulanto Chiang is a Board-certified Transplant Infectious Diseases Physician, with a long-standing and profound interest in infections in the immunocompromised hosts, antimicrobial resistance and pathogen evolution during chronic infection. He is currently a Transplant Infectious Diseases Attending clinician and malignant hematology/stem-cell transplant Infectious Diseases liaison at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee. His roles include co-chair of Infectious Diseases / Clinical Microbiology Oversight Committee and Immunocompromised Liaison for the Vanderbilt Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (VASP).
Originally obtaining his MD in Peru in 2011, Dr. Dulanto Chiang has previous experience as an Assistant Research Physician at NIAID from 2019-2023, where he led a research program to elucidate novel antibiotic resistance pathways in hypermutator Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Dr. Dulanto Chiang strives to bring his skills and expertise as an ID clinician trained in genomics and molecular microbiology to the bedside, with the overarching goal to improve the clinical care of infectious diseases in immunocompromised.
