Rajat Thawani, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Division of Hematology & Oncology, Knight Cancer Institute, OHSU

Dr. Thawani completed medical school at the University College of Medical Sciences in Delhi, India, and his internship and residency in internal medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in New York. He received a certificate in human investigations from the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), where he also completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the Knight Cancer Institute.
He moved to the University of Chicago where was faculty in the Thoracic Oncology Program, and in April 2025, came back to Portland to OHSU to work in thoracic and Phase 1 oncology. His clinical interests include lung cancer in non-smokers, intersection of immunotherapy and targeted therapy, and phase 1 clinical trials.
