Alison Skalet, MD PhD FACS

Dr. Alison Skalet is a board-certified ophthalmologist and national leader in ocular oncology. She earned her M.D. and Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, completed a pediatrics internship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and trained in ophthalmology at the University of California, San Francisco. She pursued fellowship training in ocular oncology and ophthalmic pathology at the Casey Eye Institute, where she currently directs the Ocular Oncology Division. Dr. Skalet holds the Paul H. Casey Endowed Chair in Ocular Oncology and maintains joint faculty appointments in radiation medicine and dermatology at OHSU and in radiation oncology at the University of Washington. She is a member of the Knight Cancer Institute’s Translational Oncology Program and Director of the Ocular Melanoma Program. Dr. Skalet is a recognized clinical expert in intraocular tumors and actively involved in clinical trials as well as basic science and translational research in uveal melanoma and retinoblastoma.
Dr. Skalet has enjoyed serving on subspecialty committees for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Board of Ophthalmology, American Association of Ophthalmic Oncologists and Pathologists and the International Society of Ocular Oncology. She is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Collaborative Ocular Oncology Group, North America's largest collaborative research group in ocular oncology, and a Board Member for the American Association of Ophthalmic Oncologists and Pathologists. She is on the Editorial Board for several leading journals, including Ophthalmology, the journal of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
