Dr. Hashemi is currently an Associate Professor within the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology Oncology, at the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center (UNMCCC). She is a board-certified medical oncologist with a primary focus in the management of genitourinary cancers. At UNMCCC, she leads the genitourinary working group and oversees clinical trials in genitourinary cancers. Dr. Hashemi has been actively engaged in numerous trials conducted by the National Cancer Institute's (NCI's) National Clinical Trials Network (NCTN), as well as collaborating with industry partners, both as a site principal investigator and co-investigator. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she holds several leadership roles, including Chair of the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Protocol Review and Monitoring Committee (PRMC), Medical Director of the New Mexico Cancer Research Alliance (NMCRA), and NCORP Representative on the NCI Prostate Cancer Task Force.
