Uzma Waheed, MD

Dr. Uzma Waheed is an Associate Professor in the Division of Breast Imaging in the Department of Radiology at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Waheed serves as the Director of Performance Improvement for the Department of Radiology and Associate Program Director of the Breast Imaging fellowship. She is actively involved in medical student, resident and fellow education within the division and led breast imaging residency education 2021-2025. Her academic interests include supplemental imaging modalities focusing on contrast enhanced mammography (CEM), an emerging modality she led to clinical implementation at Stanford. She is also focused on quality and performance improvement, broadly to improve systems to provide the best possible care for patients, improve imaging and radiologist workflows, and specific to breast imaging, to reduce false negatives and false positives. Dr. Waheed serves on the Society of Breast Imaging inclusion, diversity, equity alliance committee (IDEA), on the National Consortium of Breast Centers NCBC) conference planning committee in 2022 and 2024 and has presented at the Radiologic Society of North America (RSNA)and American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) on various related to breast imaging and performance improvement.
