About Me
I am a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist specializing in genomic oncology, malignant hematology, and genitourinary (GU) cancers. I practice at Kaiser Permanente Vallejo Medical Center, where I also serve as National Genomic Oncology Co-Lead.
My journey in medicine began at St. John’s Medical College in Bangalore, India, where I earned my medical degree. After completing an internship at Chicago Medical School, I pursued a residency and fellowship in Hematology & Oncology at Loyola University Chicago.
Before joining Kaiser Permanente in 2018, I served as Associate Professor of Medicine at UCSF-Fresno and Section Chief of Oncology at the VA Hospital. Prior to that I was in private practice with Illinois CancerCare in Peoria, IL. I also held an appointment as Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine (UIC).

My primary focus is Genomic Oncology – Specializing in personalized cancer treatment based on the genetic profile of tumors
Malignant Hematology – Treating blood cancers, including leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma
Genitourinary (GU) Cancers – Expertise in prostate, kidney, and bladder cancers
National Expertise on Multi-Disciplinary Teams
As Co-Leader of the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Genomic Oncology Committee, I play a key role in: Developing national genomic oncology treatment pathways
Leading the KPNC multi-disciplinary Genomic Oncology Tumor Board
Integrating genomic data into treatment decisions to improve patient outcomes.
Professional Affiliations
I am a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the American Society of Hematology (ASH) and the American Association of Cancer Research (AACR)
I serve on ASCO Molecular Tumor Board, I am actively involved in clinical trials and translational research in genomic oncology. My work includes:
National Cancer Institute (NCI) Community Oncology Program Principal investigator
Member of SWOG Cancer Research Network, NSABP, Alliance, NRG Oncology. At ALLIANCE I am a member of the Early Therapeutics and Rare Tumors Committee.
Contributor to clinical trials evaluating next-generation sequencing and targeted therapies
Hobbies and Interests
I grew up in India and moved to the United States in the early 1990s. I am married with two sons and enjoy spending time with my family. In my free time, I love reading, hiking, and flying small airplanes. Some of my favorite books include: John Adams by David McCullough and Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln by Doris Kearns Goodwin
