Shruti R. Patel, MD is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine in Early Drug Development at Stanford University and a medical oncologist at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, where she specializes in gastrointestinal cancers and leads initiatives to expand clinical trial access for veterans and underserved populations. She completed her residency at the Mayo Clinic and fellowship at Stanford, where she served as Chief Fellow. Dr. Patel’s academic work focuses on translational immunotherapy, early-onset GI cancers, and disparities in cancer care. She is the recipient of the Stanford Cancer Institute Innovation Award and serves on the Board of Directors of the Association of Northern California Oncologists. Her work has been published in Journal of Clinical Oncology, JAMA Oncology, and The Oncologist, and has been an invited speaker at multiple national meetings.
