Zaker Schwabkey, MD

Dr. Zaker Schwabkey is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and a Clinical Investigator in the Division of Hematology & Hematologic Malignancies at the University of Utah, Huntsman Cancer Institute. Dr. Schwabkey is an expert in treating myeloid neoplasms specifically acute myeloid leukemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, chronic myeloid leukemia, and myeloproliferative neoplasms. Dr. Schwabkey is committed to teaching the next generation of doctors and conducts clinical and translational research in his areas of expertise. His work has been published in esteemed journals and presented at national and international scientific meetings.
Dr. Schwabkey completed his postdoctoral research fellowship in genomic and cancer medicine at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. He completed his internal medicine residency at the Albany Medical College in Albany, NY followed by a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute in Tampa, FL where he also served as a chief fellow.
