I am Professor of Medicine at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center.  I have published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers, books, book chapters, and review papers on paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria.  I was the founding president of the International PNH Interest Group, subsequently served as Secretary, and currently, I am a member of the Executive Board.  Writing for IPIG, I authored the guidelines for diagnosis and management of PNH that was published in Blood in 2005, and I am a member of the IPIG Guidelines Committee that is updating those recommendations with an anticipated publication date in 2026.
